THE POSITION
Location: Ubud, Bali
Our Advisory Services team excels in design, implementation, data collection, and analytics, delivering fast, flexible, and world-class results. We provide expert guidance to corporate and public sector clients on innovative products and services for diverse markets, with a focus on social, economic, and environmental issues. We specialize in brokering partnerships across the public, private, and development sectors, leveraging our deep understanding of emerging markets and strong local networks in Indonesia and Southeast Asia to create impactful solutions.
Kopernik is currently looking for a committed Associate Manager of Advisory Services who will work with our team to provide professional advisory services to corporate and public sector clients exploring innovative products or services across multiple sectors, including social, economic, and environmental issues. This position calls for strong business development, client management, and market research and analysis skills to work with a dynamic and passionate team in implementing a wide-ranging portfolio of projects and partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business development and client management
- Cultivate and manage client relationships.
- Understand client needs and develop scope of work and budget for last mile consulting projects.
- Develop new business opportunities with corporate CSR divisions, technology developers, academic partners and other stakeholders interested in engaging in the last mile and base-of-the-pyramid business opportunities.
Management of market research and analysis
- Design and manage socio-economic research on particular geographic locations in Indonesia and other developing countries.
- Manage market research on specific sectors – water, energy, education, housing, agriculture, IT, health, etc. – in Indonesia and other developing countries.
Fieldwork
- Plan and supervise interviews with households and businesses where needed (interviews will mainly be conducted by senior analysts and analysts).
- Host and accompany clients on field visits and help with interpretation as necessary.
Data analysis and report writing
- Support the analyst team in:
- Data collection, analysis and report writing process;
- Cleaning and analyzing data collected in the field;
- Interpreting and summarizing findings in a succinct, visual way.
- Propose actionable recommendations to clients based on key findings.
Other tasks
- Liaise with and build partnerships with local government and relevant authorities.
- Respond to incoming correspondence from local partners, academic partners, and technology producers.
- Undertake other tasks as requested by the team and management.
SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
- Proficient in English and Indonesian.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, particularly quantitative analysis.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Advanced computer skills with competency in Excel and PowerPoint.
REQUIREMENTS
- Indonesian national.
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline such as economics or business management.
- At least 5 years of professional work experience including some in a managerial role.
- Rich experience in business consulting and/or the corporate sector.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Indonesian, especially strong English writing and presentation skills.
- A can-do and collaborative mindset – comfortable with ambiguities and demands of a rapidly evolving and fast-paced work environment.
- High energy levels.

- Willingness to travel.

Expected remuneration for this position is IDR 13,000,000 to maximum IDR 15.500.000 (depending on the experience and qualification of the successful candidate). Additional benefits include private health insurance, relocation allowance, and wellbeing activities.
