B2B Marketing Consultant for Aquaculture Cooperatives
Agriterra is an international advisory organization specializing in strengthening farmer organizations and cooperatives through peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, capacity building, and business development support. In Indonesia, Agriterra partners smallholder aquaculture cooperatives to enhance their professionalism, governance, and market integration.
Despite progress in production techniques and cooperative governance, many small and medium-sized aquaculture cooperatives lack a comprehensive B2B marketing plan and strategic approach to institutional and commercial buyer engagement. Without a well-defined B2B marketing strategy, cooperatives struggle to aggregate supply, meet buyer specifications, negotiate favorable terms, or tap into high-value markets, including export.
Agriterra seeks to engage a seasoned B2B Marketing Consultant to work with some selected small and medium-sized aquaculture cooperatives, diagnose their current marketing gaps, and co-develop and implement tailored B2B marketing strategies. The ultimate goal is to support the cooperatives in developing a fixed, clear, and actionable B2B marketing strategy that enables them to increase institutional and wholesale sales volumes, improve price realization, and build sustainable relationships with large buyers, distributors, and potential export partners.
Job Description
To design and institutionalize effective, sustainable B2B marketing strategies for Agriterra’s aquaculture cooperative partners, particularly small and medium-sized cooperatives, enabling them to expand into new domestic and international institutional markets.
Specific objectives of consultant:
- Assess current marketing practices, organizational capacity, and institutional market opportunities.
- Co-create structured B2B marketing plans and toolkits for each cooperative.
- Build cooperative leadership and member capacity in B2B negotiation, customer management, and contract marketing.
- Facilitate linkages with domestic wholesalers, processors, hospitality chains, and export clients.

Job Requirements
Education & Technical Skills:
- Bachelor and Master’s degree in Marketing, Agribusiness, Aquaculture, Business Administration, or related field.
- Expertise in B2B marketing and institutional buyer engagement within agricultural or aquaculture sectors.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in developing and implementing B2B marketing strategies, preferably in agribusiness.
- Proven track record of facilitating institutional and export market linkages.- Experience working with cooperatives or producer groups, especially small and medium-sized entities.
- Prior experience working with aquaculture businesses or cooperatives is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with post-harvest handling, cold chain logistics, and cool storage technologies is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, logistics, and export documentation.
Competencies:
- Strong negotiation, customer relationship, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent facilitation, training, and report-writing capabilities.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa (local language will be adding value).
- Ability to work in rural contexts with diverse stakeholders.
