Relations Officer – SHARE

Purpose of
job: 
 
To give
lead, advice, and implement the operational of SHARE Communications and PR
strategy to the successful of SHARE programme. In doing so s/he adheres to
British Council’s standards as well as consider any related element of
partners.

The
British Council has a long-standing reputation in Indonesia as a
well-respected cultural relations organisation, creating opportunities and
building relationships between Indonesia and the UK in the areas of three
main Strategic Business Units (SBU); Education and Society, Arts, and
English. It operates from its large main office in Jakarta. We also work
through our teaching centres in Medan, Surabaya and Jakarta which operate
through the Yayasan Dewan Inggris Indonesia. British Council works with a
wide range of public, private and not-for-profit sector partners.
 
The
British Council has a long history of delivering development contracts in
Indonesia on behalf of international organisations such as the EU, ADB, World
Bank and many others.
 
The
global objective of SHARE is to strengthen regional co-operation, enhance the
quality, regional competitiveness and internationalisation of ASEAN higher
education institutions and students, contributing to an ASEAN Community in
2015 and beyond.
 
Accountabilities,
responsibilities and main duties:


Sr.
Communication and PR Officer is accountable for successful delivery of the
co-funded SHARE programme. S/he is responsible for managing the delivery of
SHARE project, delivering the project outputs and its activities like Policy
Dialogue, Result 1, Result 2 and Result 3 to the satisfaction of the client
(i.e. the EU) and British Council.
 
Communication and PR Officer’s main duties
include but are not limited to :-
 
1.      
Delivery
and management of SHARE visibility aspects as agreed with the Team Leader and
Programme
2.      
Working
with British Council Marketing and Communication Team to ensure corporate
compliance and greater reach/impact
3.      
Ensure the
database of stakeholder and media contacts are well maintained, accurate and
updated, in coordination with EU and ASEAN
4.      
Manage
information created and received in compliance with the British Council’s
information management standards, policies, the UK data protection principles
and local legislation and in line with EU and ASEAN guidelines

Important Features Or Requirements Of The Job
The job
will require some occasional business trips nationally and internationally
–particularly within ASEAN region. It will also involve occasional weekend
and evening work. Such requirements will be managed and compensated within
British Council HR’s regulations.
