Finance Specialist

Banyan Global is recruiting a Finance Specialist for the USAID-funded Partnerships for Productivity (PADU) activity in Indonesia. The primary role of the Finance Specialist is to support the financial management of the project to include budget management, cash projections, payroll, and accounting transactions. S/he will make sure that records are accurate, local financial reporting and taxes are paid properly and on time and ensure compliance with USAID and Banyan Global regulations and policies. The Finance Specialist will report to and work directly with the Deputy Chief of Party. The position is full-time and based in Jakarta. Citizens of Indonesia are encouraged to apply.  

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project financial management, including but not limited to budget development and analysis, client and local financial reporting, and project accounting. 
  • Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information; 
  • Process, review, and document all financial transactions; 
  • Reconcile transactions monthly and ensure any discrepancies are identified and remedied; 
  • Ensure all financial documentation is compliant with USAID regulations, Banyan Global policies, and local Indonesian laws; 
  • Prepare payroll, ensuring appropriate calculations for tax and statutory deductions as well as on-time payment is achieved. 
  • Process local financial reporting; 
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports; 
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents; 
  • Maintain financial controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures and provide training as needed; 
  • Determine cash projections each month for the project; 
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups. 
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements; 
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations; 
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;  
  • Maintain customer confidence, financial security and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential; and 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; 
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, USAID experience preferred; 
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in budget development and management, and financial procedures; in-depth knowledge of USAID Cost Accounting Standards preferred. 
  • Advance proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks; 
  • Outstanding organizational, reporting, data entry, and accounting skills; 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, excellent analytical and time management skills. 

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Certified Public Accountant equivalency in Indonesia is strongly preferred.
