A.                
General Project Information
The International
Labour Organization (ILO) is a specialized UN agency with a tripartite structure encompassing representatives
from government, employers, and workers. This makes the ILO a unique forum in which the governments and the social partners of
the economy can freely and openly
debate and elaborate labor standards and policies. The Jakarta office of the
ILO undertakes a diverse program of
activities and projects for Indonesia and Timor Leste related to issues such as
employment, labor rights and standards, social protection and skills
development. The main counterparts are the
ILO constituents, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, the labor unions
and the employers’ organization, as well as a range of other partners in
government and civil society.
The International Program on the
Elimination of Child Labor (IPEC) is a specialized program of the ILO, which is
operational in 70 countries worldwide. Its objective is the effective abolition
of child labor, assisting
member States and social partner constituents in designing and implementing policies and programs to prevent and eliminate
child labor in accordance with international labor standards, including an urgent focus on the
elimination of the worst forms of child labor.
The ILO project “Reducing Child
Domestic Work by Promoting Decent Work for Domestic Workers” is focusing on Indonesia,
with aims to reduce child domestic work by building the
capacity of Domestic
Workers Organizations, so that they are better equipped to i) Advocate for
increased legal protection and enforcement for domestic workers and child
domestic workers in particular; ii) Empower domestic workers to improve
their working and living conditions; iii) create and expand mechanisms for
reporting illegal cases of exploitation to the relevant authorities, and iv)
raise awareness of issues relating to domestic work and child domestic work.
Reporting linesThe incumbent will be based in Jakarta and will be under daily
supervision of the Finance/Admin Assistant and under the general supervision of
the National Chief Technical Adviser (CTA).  The incumbent shall report to the National
CTA.
B.  
Duties and Responsibilities
The
Driver shall be responsible for:


  • Driving the Project vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and the delivery and collection of mail, documents, and other items;
  • The day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s), including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performing of minor repairs, and arranging for other repairs and periodic maintenance, and ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean;
  • Keeping logs of officials trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc;
  • Ensuring that the correct procedures are followed and relevant rules and regulations are adhered too in the case of involvement in an accident;
  • Perform other duties assigned to him/her when not driving the Project vehicle:
  • Handle log book of incoming and outgoing letters of the project
  • Assist the admin and financial assistant in maintaining filing system (hard copy)
  • Assist in logistical work of the Project (preparing meeting equipments, photocopying, faxing, etc)
  • Providing assistance in doing banking errands;
  • As required, undertake any other duties in line with his responsibilities as driver/messenger.

Required
Qualifications and Skills
The candidate needs to have at
least a secondary education, a valid Indonesian driving license and at least 5
years of driving experience and experience in clerical tasks.  The candidate should have a safe driving
record and a basic working knowledge of English, in spoken and in writing.
Knowledge and experience with undertaking small repairs and maintenance to vehicles
is considered an advantage.

the UN common remuneration system and/or commensurate with the qualifications
and competency of the selected candidate

Written Examination and Interview
Prospective
candidates may be required to take driving test and take part in an interview.
