Launched inFebruary 2007, the programme aims to improve compliance with labour standardsand competitiveness in global supply chains. Better Work involves thedevelopment of both global tools and country level projects. The focus is ondeveloping scalable and sustainable solutions, which build cooperation betweengovernment, employer and worker organizations, and international buyers.Improving compliancewith labour standards in global supply chains is an important part of apro-poor development strategy. Ensuring workers’ rightsand entitlements are protected helps to distribute the benefits of trade.Better Work supports enterprises in implementing the ILO core internationallabour standards and national labour law. This helps enterprises compete inglobal markets where many buyers demand compliance with labour standards fromtheir suppliers. Improved labour standard compliance also helps enterprises bemore competitive through higher productivity and quality. These benefits helpbuild the business case and supplier support for improved labour standardcompliance.In 2011 the BetterWork Indonesia country program became operational with a view to making itsservices available to enterprises in the garments and footwear sector ofIndonesia. It currently works with over 150 enterprises.By beginning of 2017,Better Work Indonesia (BWI) will establish an independently operatingfoundation and the delivery of core services will be implemented by thisFoundation with quality oversight provided by Better Work staff in the ILOJakarta office and at the global level.For more informationsee www.betterwork.org
Function
Thisposition will mainly assist the National Training Officer in day to dayorganization of training, including: scheduling, planning, delivery andevaluation. This position will also support the administration portion of thetraining team.Supervision                                                                    The TrainingAssistant reports to the BWI operations manager. Direct supervision andguidance is provided by the National Training Officer. Responsibilities:1. Assist on Trainingimplementationa) Assist Training Officer to administer,organize and conduct or deliver BWI training and seminars activities  b) Co-facilitatetraining or seminar sessions as required and in accordance to prior planning. c) Ensure logistic and technical preparationsfor training and seminar activitiesd) Prepare andadminister training aids such as instructional material, hand-outs, evaluationforms, and visual aids; set up training venue and audio visual equipment and makepresentations when necessary. Contact attendees forinvitation and confirmation.  e) Prepare andadminister BWI training formsf) Confer with Training officerand BWI manager todetermine training needs as to type, extent and scope, schedules andprocedures. 2. Assist in Training administrationa) Prepare contracts and invoices b) Support budget tracking andinvoicing as required c) Ensure effective logistics beforeand during training/seminar implementation and liaise with clients whennecessary d) Make travel arrangements andaccommodation bookings for consultants and trainers as required3.  DataEntry and Documentationa) Maintain and updates BWI training files and documentation in E-platformand hardcopyb) Record and file training materials, attendancesheets, evaluation forms, and othermaterial in accordance with an established classification system (STAR and WORKSPACE).c)File training materials, attendancesheets, evaluation forms, and othermaterial in corresponding files or shelves in prearranged order.d) Keep records of files sent toofficials.e)  Perform other related duties as required.4. Assistin Marketing Support marketing for training services as needed and agreedthrough e-communication,internet, 0newsletters etc. and in close coordination with the TrainingOfficer. Education Completion of High School Education

Experience
Six years ofprogressively responsible Programme/ administrative work, of which at least two years in training support activities  or with atraining institution, preferably at the level of training activities administration and data management.   Good level of competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook,Excel, PowerPoint) and ability and willingness to learn to use new software. Previous work experience in the UN or development organization would be an advantage. LanguagesActive English in writing and verbal, and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia.Competencies                            1) Excellentattention to detail and very good organisational skills 2) Excellentcommunication skills, ability to communicate with company employees, trainers from othercompanies, professional training group members, and consultants by phone, inperson, or through correspondence. 3)  Ability to plan, pprioritize  and organizeown work assignments4)  Ability towork as part of a team and on own initiative underminimum supervision5)  Ability towork under pressure, be flexible and to multi-task 6)  Ability tocollect, manage, analyze and communicate data 7)  Ability to understand and follow work instructions.Written Examination and InterviewProspective candidates will be required to sit in a writtenexamination and take part in an interview.Statement of Competencies – All applicants must fill in andsubmit the Statement of Competencies (template is attached).
