ABOUT WFP

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Under the global partnership, WFP and CARGILL Indonesia will roll out programs in 2017 that will build the capacity
of national and sub-national governments related to implementation of nutrition school meal programme. WFP Indonesia is looking for a suitable candidate for Programme Associate who will support Programme Policy Officer in WFP CO Jakarta, oversee the school
meal intervention programme in Serang and East Java, and to be assigned & embedded at the Ministry of Education & Cultural Affairs during the agreed period/timeline

JOB PURPOSE

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes within the school meal programme area of work under the scope of WFP and CARGILL partnership.
  2. Provide specialized project management support to the implementation of national nutrition programme for school children (PROGAS) to ensure that the various activities are performed following the
    WFP’s policies and procedures.
  3. Prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g. technical assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate
    standards and quality control.
  4. Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  5. Liaise closely with government counterparts to support effective collaboration, technical assistance and capacity development activities as per agreed, including monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  6. Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform effective support for PROGAS implementation under WFP-CARGILL cooperation areas and to ensure
    efficient delivery of food and technical assistance.
  7. Support the capacity building of cooperating partners and national/sub-national government within the school meal area of expertise.
  8. Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical school meal area of responsibility.
  9. Perform and act as an embedded staff at the Ministry of Education & Cultural Affairs as per agreed timeline, to provide effective technical assistance support and to contribute to delivering objectives
    to agreed standards and deadlines.
  10. Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional
area.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
• Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
• Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
