experienced candidates for the positions mentioned :
MCSP Banten II Study Research Advisor Location: –  Jakarta Overview:The Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) is a global U.S. Agency
for International Development (USAID) cooperative agreement to introduce and
support high-impact health interventions in 24 priority countries with the
ultimate goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths within a
generation. In Indonesia, MCSP is working with the Government of Indonesia and
other partners to identify the major determinants of maternal and newborn
mortality. MCSP is currently working with University of Indonesia on two
studies: one to accurately capture the maternal mortality rate in three
districts of Banten province, and one to accurately capture the newborn
mortality rate in two sub-districts. MCSP will provide support to UI throughout
the duration of study planning, implementation, data analysis, and write-up.
The Research Advisor will support the Research and Evaluation Director and
other MCSP staff in activities related to the implementation and analysis of
the Banten II Study in collaboration with UI.
MCSP seeks an
experienced Research Advisor to support the development and implementation of
these two research study protocols. The Research Advisor will report to the
Principle Investigator and will work closely with the study team throughout the
duration of both studies. The Research Advisor will be responsible for overall
coordination and management of the research studies, and will act as a liaison,
both to the University of Indonesia study team and the MCSP headquarters team.
As such, the Research Advisor will participate in regular calls and will be
able to provide updates on study progress and troubleshoot study challenges.
The research advisor will provide oversight of data collection and will
actively participate in data analysis, in coordination with University of
Indonesia.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist
    with maternal and neonatal mortality data analysis
  • Maintain
    organized record of IRB documents
  • Assist
    with review and finalization of tools and instruments
  • Coordinate
    and communicate effectively with contacts at University of Indonesia
  • Assist
    with field visits to supervise data collection and provide data quality checks
  • Observe
    data collection to determine feasibility and sensitivity of chosen methodology
  • Develop
    tools and support adaptation of research
    methodology for neonatal study
  • Assist
    MCSP team with maintaining high quality research and standards
  • Review
    and troubleshoot data collection procedures throughout the period of data
    collection, as needed
  • Assist
    with development of standard operating procedures, field manuals and training
    materials
  • Participate
    in trainings, as needed
  • Communicate
    with MCSP headquarters to provide updates on study progress Qualifications
    and Requirements:
  • Master’s
    Degree in Public Health, with concentration in Epidemiology
  • 5-10
    years’ experience conducting research
  • Excellent
    data analysis skills, with demonstrated knowledge of STATA and/or SPSS
  • Previous
    experience with study design, developing tools, and preparing and implementing
    IRB protocols
  • Exemplary
    oral and written Bahasa Indonesia and English communications skills required
  • Ability
    to balance priorities and deadlines to ensure study goals are met
  • Detail-oriented
