Knowledge Management Officer
Overview
USAID SEGAR is seeking a full-time, Knowledge Management Officer to support the Activity at national level and based in Jakarta.

Objective
The SEGAR Activity is a five-year development initiative, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Activity supports a diverse group of Indonesian stakeholders largely at the subnational level, including key government of Indonesia (GOI) institutions, to engender greater capacity and commitment to conservation and good environmental governance, as well as facilitating a greater role for village communities and the private sector, including larger companies and small landowners and their associations. The Activity’s key formal GOI counterpart is the KKSDA, Bappenas.
USAID SEGAR works in Jakarta and the following four provinces and twelve districts:
- Aceh: Aceh Tamiang, and North and East Aceh
- West Kalimantan: Ketapang, Kubu Raya, Sanggau, and Sintang
- East Kalimantan: Berau, East Kutai, and Mahakam Ulu
- Central Kalimantan: Seruyan, and West Kotawaringin
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Knowledge Management Officer will ensure the effective capture, organization, and dissemination of critical information, lessons learned, and best practices across USAID SEGAR’s activities. The Knowledge Management Officer will support the creation of a variety of written knowledge products including Quarterly, Annual and Final Reports, Lessons Learned Documents, Position Papers and the like, designed to enhance the visibility of USAID SEGAR’s work in promoting biodiversity conservation, sustainable land use, and inclusive economic growth, ensuring alignment with USAID standards.
Key Tasks
- Work with Activity Senior Management to support the Activity’s contractual reporting to USAID.
- Work with Activity Management and Technical Staff to develop Technical Summary and Lessons Learned Documents, Success Stories, Position Papers and the like.
- Work with Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and learning (MEL) Staff to organize and store Activity knowledge management information.
- Support internal knowledge-sharing events as required.
- Collaborate with the Communications Officer to integrate knowledge management efforts into outreach materials.
- Work with the Communications Officer to manage media relations and support high-level events, including drafting event briefers, talking points, and other preparatory materials for USAID.
- Perform additional duties aligned with the Activity’s objectives, the position’s technical skills, and Activity requirements as directed by the supervisor.
- Travel within subnational jurisdictions as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in knowledge management, information management or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role within an international development or non-profit organization.
- Demonstrated ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences.
- Experience working on communications in biodiversity conservation, conservation governance, local governance, commodity supply chain management, or other related areas in the Indonesian context is preferred.
- Fluency in Indonesian, excellent written proficiency in English.
- Experience working with USAID and knowledge of USAID communications policies is advantageous.
