Knowledge Management Specialist: Jakarta Office

MSH started working in Indonesia in 1980 with a focus on improving child health, decentralizing health services, expanding access to care and treatment for TB, and strengthening pharmaceutical management. In 2023, MSH was awarded the five-year USAID BEBAS-TB activity to reduce TB incidence and mortality by addressing critical gaps and challenges in the TB program. This activity builds on the work of previous USAID projects and aims to improve access and utilization of quality and patient-centered comprehensive TB services. To achieve the objectives, MSH is looking for Knowledge Management Specialist.

Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Communication and Knowledge Management Manager and working closely with the BEBAS-TB MERL, Technical and Provincial Team. The Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist will provide technical assistance for reviewing and implementing knowledge and information management activities to support USAID BEBAS-TB objectives. The KM Specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust KM ecosystem that facilitates knowledge creation, capture, sharing, and utilization to improve program effectiveness and impact.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support to develop and Implement Knowledge Management Strategy

Conduct a thorough knowledge assessment to identify knowledge gaps, strengths, and opportunities within the USAID BEBAS-TB program.

With direction from Communication and Knowledge Management Manager, design and implement effective KM systems, processes, and tools to capture, store, and disseminate knowledge.

  • Facilitate Knowledge Sharing and Creation

Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the program.

Facilitate the creation of new knowledge products, such as guidelines, tools, and case studies.

Utilize digital platforms and technologies to enhance knowledge sharing and accessibility.

  • Manage Knowledge Repository:

Build and maintain a centralized knowledge repository, ensuring easy access to relevant information and resources. Develop a robust metadata structure to facilitate effective knowledge search and retrieval. Curate and update knowledge content regularly to maintain its relevance and accuracy.

  • Capacity Building

Build the capacity of program staff in KM concepts, tools, and practices. Develop and deliver KM training programs tailored to different audiences. Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to support knowledge management efforts.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, public health, or a related field

Experience:

  • 5 years of progressively responsible, related experience is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate KM strategies and systems.
  • Experience in utilizing KM tools and technologies (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, databases, content management systems) to capture, manage, and disseminate knowledge effectively
  • Ability to drive organizational change and foster a knowledge-sharing culture
  • Expertise in utilizing digital platforms and tools for knowledge creation, sharing, and dissemination
  • Experience working with USAID or another donor-funded program
  • Experience in capacity building and training
  • Preferred experience in public health, tuberculosis, and international development

  • Ability to manage time effectively, assess priorities, work gracefully under pressure with multiple deadlines, be flexible, and manage projects through to their successful completion with attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated competency for project management and coordination of diverse teams.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Travel requirements: Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed; up to 50%.
