CSF Indonesia was established in March 2016 and legally registered as Yayasan Strategi Konservasi Indonesia (YSKI). CSF’s mission is to promote good use of economics and governance principles in public policy. CSF believes that public policies will be more effective if powered by economics and good governance tools, and designed with systemic approach. Toward that end CSF Indonesia build capacity of Indonesia’s community of change makers inside and outside government institutions through trainings and policy research fellowships as a way to strengthen the science-to-policy linkage in both marine and terrestrial biomes. CSF is headquartered in Washinton D.C. with offices in Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, South Africa, and Indonesia.

 

Job Description

Conservation Strategy Fund Indonesia (Yayasan Strategi Konservasi Indonesia/YSKI) is seeking an experienced Landscape Project Coordinator to oversee and manage the implementation of CSF Indonesia’s terrestrial projects. The successful candidate will be based in Jakarta and required to travel outside Jakarta (the project sites) approximately around 20% – 30% of the working period.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the field of sustainable landscape management with a strong background in natural resource management or environmental economics. S/he shall have fluent English speaking and writing skills, as the position will work closely with the global office team. S/he will also have a willingness to learn, highly functional organizational skills, strong self-motivation, dynamic working skills, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude. S/he shall maintain a good and positive communication and networking with governments, NGOs/CSOs, private sectors, IP organizations, and other CSF related partners.

Under the supervision of program manager and country director, the landscape projects coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordinating CSF landscape projects in Indonesia.
  • Monitor the landscape projects implementation in coordination with other CSF team (Program Manager, Natural Resource Economists).
  • Coordinate with the CSF project consultants, liaison officers, and other CSF partners for the landscape projects planning and implementation.
  • Ensuring the landscape projects implementation align with the budget plan in close coordination with admin and financial manager.
  • Establishing and maintaining good communication and relationship with CSF partners and stakeholders including (but not limited to) national government, provincial government, and district government, NGOs/CSOs, IPs group alliances, private sectors, universities, research institutions, and other related partners.
  • Leading the arrangement the landscape projects activities such as conducting researches and studies, workshops, FGDs, and trainings. The tasks are including drafting the TORs, budget plan, logistic preparation, set up meetings, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Participating in CSF Indonesia’s organizational activities for fundraising such as developing concept notes, proposal development and strategic planning for terrestrial/landscape issues.
  • Assisting in the strategic development of CSF Indonesia’s growing training and capacity building program in the terrestrial portfolios, in coordination with the US Team (CSF Global Training Director and Training Manager).
  • Assist in development of curriculum, training materials, and knowledge products to enhance CSF Indonesia’s research and studies.
  • Supporting CSF works to review the proposals from CSF fellows, draft technical reports and final reports for research and studies.
  • Providing analytical work in landscape/terrestrial program in coordination with natural resource economists including obtaining data, scientific references, analysis, and reporting.

Expected travel:

This person is expected to travel 30% of all workdays in a year.

 

Job Requirements

  • Having a minimum master degree (S2) in natural resource economics/natural resource management/forestry/ or other similar fields
  • A minimum of 5 years working experiences in landscape/terrestrial projects in Indonesia
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • High attention to details and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong team player with solid communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive, highly motivated, and willing to learn
  • Organized, flexible, detail-oriented, good problem-solving skills, and efficient.
  • High cultural sensitivity when working with people from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities
  • Able and willing to travel to perform the assigned tasks.
