As we are constantly expanding, we are currently hiring to fill the following position for our office in Jakarta:

Partnership and Communications Director

Yayasan Konservasi Indonesia (KI), the main partner of Conservation International (CI) in Indonesia, with offices and project sites across Indonesia, we are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to lead the Partnership and Communication teams in KI. The Partnership & Communications Director is responsible to develop and lead the organization’s external partnership, fundraising, development program and the overall communications strategy for the organization.  The Director will work closely with the Senior Vice President and Executive Chair of Konservasi Indonesia, Senior Policy Director, VP Program to build and implement fundraising strategy, successfully deliver the fundraising effort and lead the fundraising team. This strategy and the focus on this role overall will be to ensure that the partnership and communications support and drives forward the goals of Konservasi Indonesia.

 

The Partnership and Communications Director will lead Konservasi Indonesia mission achievement by leading and managing the organization’s partnership program.  Responsibilities will include taking part in annual planning and budgeting, develop investable programming and annual income targets on a regular cycle.  This position need to achieve targets on regular cycle, partnering across the programmatic teams of Konservasi Indonesia to engage subject matter experts in proposal development support, working with program team to learn the modes of working within and across the community, helping shape collaborations that result in fundable programming with measurable impact.  This position will own the fundraising prospecting and pipeline, working with the Senior Management Team to meaningfully engage and motivate donors, international organizations, corporations and potential strategic partners to meet or exceed Konservasi Indonesia annual development goals.

 

Key responsibility of the role will also to oversee Konservasi Indonesia partnership & communications team.  This role is responsible to build on Konservasi Indonesia brand reputation as a national foundation tat aims to support the sustainable development and protection of critical ecosystems in Indonesia.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partnership and Development
  • Responsible and in-charge to work with Management team to raise revenue for a portfolio of the institution’s strategic priorities by developing/implementing fundraising strategies, providing technical support to Konservasi Indonesia program staff in the development of proposals and concepts, and leading/managing key and potential partner.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop annual revenue projections based on the development of strategies and expected prospect giving.
  • Strategically work with other staff to cultivate and solicit gifts and meet fundraising goals.
  • Ensure that fundraising strategies and goals are aligned with organization-wide fundraising initiatives and priorities.
  • Identify short-term and long-term fundraising goals for targeted prospects.
  • Work closely with CI global and regional development, campaign and communication team and Konservasi Indonesia staff to ensure cultivation opportunities are fully maximized and aligned with travel plans and key events.
  • Support funding concepts and proposal development with subject matter experts.
  • Proofread and assess proposals for Konservasi Indonesia in line with its vision, and content standards.
  • Ensure that fundraising efforts are tracked in the database.
  • Prepare detailed fundraising progress reports and analyses to identify gaps and recommend refinements in the fundraising strategy as needed. 

 

  1. Communications:
  • Engage with Senior Management Team in Konservasi Indonesia, communication team and external parties to develop collaborative communication plans and strategies.
  • Manage engagement with media and other external stakeholders relevant to communications strategy for the organization.
  • Ensure and responsible that the communication strategy is well implemented and deliver measurable impact to improve the Konservasi Indonesia reputation.
  • Responsible for Konservasi Indonesia communication strategy, and delivering to that strategy in support of programs, grants, events and fundraising priorities.
  • Ensure and responsible for the management and deliverable of the communication team and their support to internal and external needs.
  • Coordinate communications strategies and messaging, resourcing, activities, and delivery both internally and externally with stakeholders as required.
  • Commission, coordinate, co-create, proofread, write, post, and other tasks as required, to ensure suitable communications, marketing, fundraising and engagement activities as required.
  • Responsible and in-charge on the conceptualization and execution of multiple Konservasi Indonesia campaigns annually.
  • Develop and deploy communications to engage new donors and achieve philanthropic goals.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote high standards for writing, editing, style, format, design, and production for all materials.
  • Responsible for training, co-creating, editing and support to all Konservasi Indonesia staff that ensures all collateral and messaging reflects Konservasi Indonesia brand and strategic goals.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Management Team to prepare presentations for high-level meetings and workshops, including presentations to community groups, government agencies, private sector partner, or media audiences.
  • Represent Konservasi Indonesia to attend the high-level meetings and being a spokesperson as of assigned by the Senior Vice President and the Executive Chair of Konservasi Indonesia.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and more than 12 years of experience in communication or related field.
  • Proven experience as leader of new partnership and fundraising initiatives, strong strategic thinker and team player, with successful track record of managing and delivering successful multi-million dollar grants and philanthropic gifts from a variety of sources, particularly multilateral organisations, donor agency, corporate foundations, governments and individuals.
  • Demonstrated strategic communications and experience on built and established reputable organization brand.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting and writing funding proposals, with experience in some or all of the following areas: nature conservation and climate change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skill with ability to develop strong concept and pitch materials, manage reporting frameworks and syntehsize the story from multiple quantitative and qualitative data points.
  • Experience with overseeing communications professionals and teams, supporting those who will manage key brand messages to different target audience segments.
  • A leader comfortable and experienced with facilitating alignment in a multi-stakeholder environment at the same time as being decisive enough to deliver high quality, effective fundraising materials and concepts.
  • A good command of both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with proven presentation, writing and editing skills in both languages;
  • Strong research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • An ability to work in a team and create communications strategies that are effective at reaching the program’s target audiences.

 ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience on sustainable development and/or conservation work;
  • A combination of experiences working in various sectors is preferred for having good sense of understanding on different stakeholders’ perspectives and interests

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is based in Konservasi Indonesia Jakarta office.
  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Frequent travel to field offices and field program area as necessary.
