Program Coordinator

1. Organization Profile

Accept International is an international NGO established in 2011, whose headquarters is located in Tokyo, Japan. The organization has been operating in Somalia, Yemen, Kenya, and Indonesia, implementing rehabilitation and reintegration projects for ex-combatants of armed groups, and defectors and prisoners of violent extremist organizations to break the chains of violence such as terrorism and conflicts across the world.

As Accept International established a new Indonesian organization named “Yayasan Penerimaan Internasional”, and intends to implement a new project to tackle the issues of countering violent extremism in Indonesia, we seek motivated and qualified Indonesian candidates for a Program Coordinator.

 

2. Job Description

Duration

June 2024 – May 2025

*A candidate is going to be put on probation for three months. The contract period can be extended according to the candidate’s performance.

 

Work Location

Cilacap, Central Java, Indonesia

*You may be scheduled for a one-week business trip to Jakarta, Surakarta, and other areas in Indonesia.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including relevant public authorities and local NGOs, to advance the project effectively.
  • Assist a project manager and a project leader in the implementation of workshops and seminars and monitoring project progress.
  • Report the progress of tasks regularly to Yayasan Penerimaan Internasional and the headquarters of Accept International.
  • Monitor bookkeeping and report any budget utilization to the headquarters.
  • Dedicate yourself to relevant research and project site activities such as interviews, counseling, and training for inmates and prison/correctional officers in collaboration with program officers and Accept International headquarters.
  • Translate relevant documents and discussions during meetings with local stakeholders into Bahasa/English.
  • Support other local staff members to advance the project as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • At least three years of work experience in international organizations and NGOs.
  • Indonesian proficiency: Native
  • English proficiency: Fluent (equivalent to IELTS Overall 7.0 and above)
  • Able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google (Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides) applications.
  • Able to use Gmail, Zoom, and other social media to communicate with local partners, Yayasan Penerimaan Internasional, and Accept International headquarters.
  • Prepare and use the candidate’s own computer that can install Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
  • Maintain timely and smooth communication with Accept International headquarters to manage the project remotely.
  • Maintain punctuality with respect to task deadlines and stakeholder appointments and manage tasks by prioritizing and juggling multiple tasks.
  • Respect and comply with the working conditions established by Accept International as an international standard.

 

Desirable

  • Highly motivated and responsible for the duties.
  • Capable of thinking and suggesting on one’s own to achieve project goals, rather than just performing tasks as directed.
  • Experiences in collaborating with multiple stakeholders (public authorities at national and regional levels, civil society organizations, local communities etc.)
  • Experiences in accounting or project financial management.
  • Arabic, Javanese, and other dialect speakers.
  • Academic background in relevant fields.
  • Those who can live in Cilacap will be highly appreciated.

 

Salary

Around IDR 8,000,000 ~ 9,000,000 per month

*The amount of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s ability and experience.
