JOB VACANCIES
OXFAM is an International Non Governmental
Organisation working across the world with a vision of just a world without
poverty: a world in which people can influence decisions that affect their
lives, enjoy their rights, and assume their responsibilities as full citizens
of a world in which all human beings are valued and treated equally.
Vision for IndonesiaWe envision an Indonesia where women are
equal citizens and everyone can enjoy their rights even in times of shocks
and disaster.
Request for Proposal – Event
Organizer for PUBLIC DISCUSSION AND MEDIA BRIEFING:
“Sensitizing the
rights to food and promoting the sustainable agriculture”
BACKGROUND
Oxfam in Indonesia is implementing a project
on the rights to food until next three years. The impact that we are seeking
with ‘Right to Food’ is for women, men and children living in poverty
to realise their rights to food.
For this to happen a more just food system
is required, that sustainably addresses the needs and aspirations of small-scale
food producers, agricultural workers and vulnerable communities. The long
term outcome is for small-scale food producers and agricultural workers,
particularly women and their communities, to benefit from local, national
and global public and private sector policies that protect and promote
their prosperity and resilience.
This idea is in line with global program named
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs, especially number 2 mentioned
clearly about zero hunger which is aiming to end all forms of hunger and
malnutrition by 2030, making sure all people – especially children and
the more vulnerable – have access to sufficient and nutritious food all
year round. This involves promoting sustainable agricultural practices:
improving the livelihoods and capacities of small scale famers, allowing
equal access to land, technology and markets.
If done right, agriculture, forestry and fisheries
can provide nutritious food for all and generate decent incomes, while
supporting people-centred rural development and protecting the environment.
Based on that, Oxfam in Indonesia is planning
to conduct a public discussion and media briefing to disseminate the program
and also to build a bridge between public through media agencies with stakeholders
on the rights to food.
