Request for Proposal

To conduct a coverage survey of Vitamin A for the February 2017 round
among caregivers of children 6-59 months
in six provinces of Indonesia.

The Micronutrient Initiative (MI) is an international
Non-Government Organization (NGO) dedicated to ensuring that the world’s most vulnerable
– especially women and children in developing countries – get the vitamins
and minerals they need to survive and thrive. With headquarters in Ottawa,
Canada MI maintains regional offices in New Delhi, India and Dakar, Senegal
that manage our country offices in Asia and Africa.

MI has
supported VAS programming in Indonesia since 2009 in 12 districts of six
provinces of Indonesia. These provinces are North Sumatera, South Sumatera,
West Nusa Tenggara, Banten, West Java and Riau. A coverage evaluation survey
was conducted by MI in 2012 comparing MI supported and Non- supported
districts. The study findings indicated that at least 10% of the children are
being missed from vitamin A supplementation. These results highlight the need
for mop up strategy.

A
post event coverage survey is planned to be conducted to establish the estimates of vitamin A post February
2017 round in MI supported districts in 6 provinces (North Sumatera, South
Sumatera, Riau, West Java, Banten, and West Nusa Tenggara). The
study will measure program inputs and will also give a point estimate of
Vitamin A coverage to better understand lessons learned around why coverage may
be lower (or higher) in some places. Findings of the survey will be used for
advocacy with MoH to further improve the strategy.

 The duration of

contract will be 18 weeks and the activities are anticipated to be conducted in
–February-June 2017.

• Proposal including financial submission (for bidding)
