The Micronutrient
Initiative (MI) is an international Non-Government Organization (NGO) dedicated
to ensuring that the world’s most vulnerables – especially women and children
in developing countries – get the vitamins and minerals they need to survive
and thrive. With headquarters in Ottawa, Canada MI maintains regional offices
in New Delhi, India and Dakar, Senegal that manage our country offices in Asia
and Africa.
MI Indonesia is supporting
the government in demonstrating a program model for implementing an
intervention on weekly iron and folic acid supplementation for school-going
adolescent girls to reduce the prevalence of anemia among them.
Following development of the Behaviour Change Intervention Strategy and
IEC materials, MI will be printing the materials and distributing
to the two supported districts, Purwakarta District and Cimahi City. Among the
IEC materials developed and will be printed are flipcharts, posters, and
booklets. In addition, a short-video developed will be requested to be copied
in CDs.
