TB Research Analyst (Conference)

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of TB Research Analyst (Conference) for BEBAS-TB, a USAID funded project that will contribute to Accelerating the Elimination of Tuberculosis in Indonesia.

The goal of Bersama Menuju Eliminasi dan Bebas dari TB (BEBAS-TB) under Accelerating Elimination of TB in Indonesia Annual Program Statement: 2023-2028 is to assist the Government of Indonesia in addressing the TB epidemic and achieving 2030 TB elimination targets. Vital Strategies is part of a consortium led by MSH, to support a strong and resilient health system to accelerate TB elimination. Vital Strategies oversees the objective on implementation research to improve TB control, and to support national efforts to implement a TB research agenda.

The Union Conference on Lung Health is an internationally recognized event that serves as a crucial platform for professionals dedicated to lung health, tuberculosis control, and respiratory disease prevention. Hosted annually by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), this conference gathers experts, policymakers, researchers, and healthcare providers from across the globe to share knowledge, discuss innovations, and strategize on combating lung health issues. The 2024 conference in Bali, Indonesia, is particularly significant as it marks a pivotal moment for global health initiatives post-pandemic, aiming to address the new challenges and opportunities in tuberculosis and lung health. Indonesia, as the host country, holds a critical position in the global fight against tuberculosis, being one of the highest burden countries for the disease. The conference in Bali offers a unique opportunity to highlight Indonesia’s efforts and advancements in tuberculosis control. By participating in this conference, USAID BEBAS-TB can contribute to and benefit from the collective expertise and experiences shared during the event, enhancing our own strategies and practices in combating TB in Indonesia. USAID BEBAS-TB’s participation in the Union Conference is driven by the objective to strengthen our knowledge base, foster international collaborations, and present our own research and initiatives on a global stage. Vital Strategies is coordinating and overseeing a comprehensive plan for ensuring USAID BEBAS-TB and partner’ effective participation and representation at the conference. By coordinating logistics, preparing participants, and providing on-site support, we aim to maximize the impact of BEBAS-TB’s presence at the Union Conference, contributing to both the global discourse and to local project efforts in tuberculosis control.

Location: Remote

As a TB Research Analyst (Conference), you will play a pivotal role in supporting USAID BEBAS-TB’s scientific participation in The Union conference. The TB Research Analyst (conference) will report to the Senior TB Research Advisor and work very closely with Vital Strategies from the Singapore and NY Offices, and with the BEBAS-TB MERL Director from MSH, to successfully implement the project in Indonesia.

Key Deliverables
– Support the production of conference materials (poster and presentation slides) for accepted abstracts/sessions supported by USAID BEBAS-TB
– Support further analyses of accepted abstracts/studies supported by USAID BEBAS-TB
– Support drafting and submission of manuscripts and policy briefs for accepted abstracts/studies supported by USAID BEBAS-TB

Qualifications
– Master’s or Ph.D. in health sectors preferred.
– Strong knowledge of tuberculosis
– Preferred experience working with JETSET TB.
– Excellent data analysis and synthesis skills.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
