Purpose of job: The role purpose is to develop and implement communication strategies and be responsible for project communication management and coordination between internal and external resources. The expected result is to ensure the successful delivery in communication and achieve high visibility of the co-funded EU Support to Higher Education in ASEAN region (SHARE). Context and environment: (e.g. dept description, region description, organogram) The global objectiveof SHARE is to strengthen regional co‑operation, enhance the quality, regional competitiveness and internationalisation of ASEAN higher education institutions and students, contributing to an ASEAN Community in 2015 and beyond. At the core of EU SHARE is the desire to enhance co‑operation between the EU and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and create lasting benefit from the harmonisation of higher education across ASEAN. Realisation of AEC integration will facilitate the free flow of goods, services, investments, capital and skilled labour. The expected resultsof SHAREare: • Policy dialogues on enhancement of strategic issues in harmonization of ASEAN higher education, including all relevant stakeholders (Result 1) • ASEAN Qualification Reference Framework (Result 2a) and ASEAN Regional Quality Assurance (Result 2b) further developed through our work, supported by ASEAN stakeholders • ASEAN Credit Transfer System (ACTS) (Result 3a) and ASEAN‑EU Credit Transfer System (AECTS) (Result 3b) further developed and tested through mobility with scholarships. • Student Mobility with Scholarships (Result 3c) The Implementation of the Programme has began in January 2015. The implementation period of the Programme is 48 months. The Programme is implemented by the British Council (Lead), Campus France, DAAD, ENQA, EUA and EP-Nuffic. Programme budget is 9.8 million Euros. Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties: · The role of British Council’s SHARE team is challenging, as it operates from two offices: a Project Management Office located within the ASEAN Secretariat and the stand-alone British Council Country Office in Jakarta. · The job will require some occasional business trips nationally and internationally –particularly within ASEAN region. It will also involve occasional weekend and evening work. Such requirements will be managed and compensated within British Council HR’s regulations. · The role will open up the opportunity of extensive network in higher education field in the ASEAN and European region Press relations : • Organise and manage media gatherings as part of briefings of relevant SHARE events and activities. • Foster and maintain relationships with the Press community outside of our activity – through arranging informal lunches, invitations to other events etc. • Respond and manage all external inquiries on SHARE in all communication and PR areas. • Manage press conferences and media luncheons, including press invitations, press releases and press kits as necessary. • Build close, positive relationships with editors, journalists and media representatives in Indonesia.
