Consultancy – Researcher
for community resilience to disaster

Background
Indonesia is one out of five countries that
is most frequently hit by natural disasters. Thus, based on this condition,
Indonesia people need to be more prepared to any possible disasters. The
main purposes of this work is to restore communities’ resilience to disasters.
Community resiliency is a multi-faceted concept, affecting by three main
factors: social, economic, and ecology. This is what lead the works of
disaster management becomes complicated and very wide-ranging. The research
need to be conducted in order to measure the gap after the phases of disaster
response. It aims to measure the level of resilience at community and system
levels as a basis to develop effective approaches to maximize contribution
of actors, institutions, and regulation in shaping the resilience levels.


 

The objective

To identify the gap in the field of economic,
ecology (environment) and social that emerge after the disaster.


To produce a potential proposal for a humanitarian
project, such as improving the communities’ resilience after disaster.

Outputs

1. Data about the economic, ecology, and
social condition in targeted research areas (before and after/baseline
and end line) is available.


2. Analysis data on gaps of humanitarian
players’ intervention on IDPs management in targeted research areas is
available.

Methodology

1. Questioners and focus group discussion
(TBC) to collect high quality data on time with adequate number of respondent
(30% of the IPDs)


3. Identifying the potential respondents
in the targeted areas.


4. Data input based on field data collection

Time frame and Duration

Estimation of 20 working days to cover the
Internal Displaced Peoples (IDPs) locations

Location

Sinabung (North Sumatra), Karawang (West
Java), and Trenggalek (East Java).

Submitted resume will be evaluated
based on the following criteria:


1. Independently consultant or institution
(university degrees preferably advanced level, in Economy and Statistic
for independent consultant)

2. At least 5 years demonstrated experience
in effective coordination and implementation of research project with relevant
subject matters, collecting & analyzing data

 relevant and professional experience
in data collecting;

3. Good knowledge in Humanitarian with multidisciplinary
skills.

4. Ability to communicate effectively with
high standard professionalism

5. Ability to work both independently and
as part of a team;
