Background
Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim danKetangguhan (APIK) Project is a 5-year, $19 million USAID funded Project. Thepurpose of APIK is to support the Government of Indonesia to strengthen climateand disaster resilience, working in an integrated manner from the nationallevel down to the community level. APIK will help to mainstream climate changeadaptation and disaster risk reduction into national and sub-nationalgovernance frameworks, build the capacity of local communities and the privatesector to address climate change and weather-related natural hazards, andsupport the use of information for climate and disaster risk management amongkey stakeholders.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
• Supportcoordination of USAID activities with the EA Secretariat and other relevantnational and sub-national government agencies .
• Prepareprogress reports as concerns the implementation of USAID activities for reviewby the EA Secretariat .
• Coordinateand prepare required administrative documentation and correspondence to facilitatethe work of the EA Secretariat, including those related to visa and workpermit, grantee contributions, required BAST reporting, etc.
• Arrange and provide support to EA Secretariat andTechnical Team meetings and events.
• Assist in ensure effective and efficient operations of theEA Secretariat.
• Coordinatewith all EA Secretariat of Technical Teams to ensure that support offeredthrough the USAID Environment portfolio is being delivered in an effective,efficient and accountable manner.
• Exercisea high degree of diplomacy, consensus-building, teamwork, maturity,independence, and flexibility to effectively fulfill the responsibilities ofthe position, especially considering the political sensitivities andcomplexities of the position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Atleast Bachelor’s degree (S1 orequivalent) in International Development, Public Policy, Public Administration,Political Science, or related development field.
• Musthave a minimum of five years of experience working in internationaldevelopment, or related field. This experience includes a minimum of 3 yearsworking with donor organization, or central and provincial government officesin Indonesia.
• FluencySpeaking/reading/writing in English and Indonesian is required. Must be able tointerpret agency policy, guidance and follow procedures accurately.
• Theincumbent must have superior knowledge of general development principles andapproaches, the Indonesian development environment, and the Government ofIndonesia’s (GOI) development priorities.
• Haveunderstanding of program design, implementation, financial management, andmonitoring and evaluation.
• Possessknowledge of the local political, government and regulatory context; localdevelopment issues and challenges; international development principles andapproaches, including aid effectiveness; and USAID policies and processes,especially related to project implementation.
• Musthave good judgment and strong communication and interpersonal skills, able towork independently on multiple tasks and meet deadline.
• Must beable to mentor and train others and have proficiency in Microsoft Officeapplication.
