Countering Violent Social Movements and Organizations through Anti-Corruption
Programming
Summary: USAID CEGAH, is a 5-year program dedicated towards strengthening
Indonesia’s Community of Accountability. This includes components on rule of
law strengthening, accountability and anti-corruption, public service
integrity, access to information and civil society strengthening. The program,
currently in its second year, is expanding its programming to the cross-section
of anti-corruption and countering terrorism and violent social movements and
organizations and is seeking a senior advisor who would serve on the team to
guide this new programming area as well as providing direct technical
assistance to the Government of Indonesia and CEGAH’s civil society partners. Position Summary: Senior Advisor will report to the Chief of Party
and work close with him and existing program managers to bolster USAID CEGAH’s
ability to address problems with violent social movements through
anti-corruption programming. This could be adjusting existing programming or
designing new programmatic engagements. Responsibilities:
- Work
with Chief of Party and Component Managers to adjust existing and design
new programming to reduce the ability of violent social movements to
organize and operate - Provide
direct technical advice and programming to Government of Indonesia
institutions - Provide
quality control on programming seeking to counter violent social movements
that is implemented through CSO and private sector partners - Provide
technical oversight over specialized consultants engaged in technical
assistance and training - Provide
technical input on CEGAH internal discussions around relevant programming - Provide
regular oral and written updates on key countering violent social movement
activities and events to MSI and USAID - Provide inputs
on quarterly and annual reports as well as other communication products.
Qualifications:
- At
least seven (7) years of relevant work experience as a consultant,
academic/researcher, or in law enforcement/relevant government agency
working on relevant themes - Relevant
educational background - Excellent
knowledge of countering terrorism and violent social movements in
Indonesia and preferably some knowledge of parallel experiences in other
countries - Diverse
and close network of relevant actors in government, civil society, and
academia - A good
understanding of Indonesia’s anti-corruption environment and programming - Can-do attitude,
responsiveness, willingness and ability to function in fluid and flexible
environment - Excellent
English language proficiency in writing and speech - Experience
with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
