works with various stakeholders in the natural resources sector to support
policy and management that are both profitable and sustainable. WRI has worked
with leaders in more than 50 countries for more than 30 years, with offices in
the United States, Brazil, China, Europe, India, and Indonesia.

 

Launched
in early 2014, WRI Indonesia builds on WRI’s 10-year history in the country
focusing on forests and land use governance, and strengthens our impact on the
ground. In the short-to-medium term, WRI Indonesia aims to expand its presence
and portfolio to include climate, energy, as well as cities and transportation
programs.

 

WRI
Indonesia is seeking for a part time Photographer and Videographer Consultant
with excellent skill in photography and video taking. This person reports
directly to Peatland Restoration Project Manager and One Map Initiative Manager
and will work under coordination with the communications team.

 

Overview

As
a part of its restoration and sustainable land use work, WRI Indonesia is set
to conduct programme and research activities which include field visit,
interview, focus group discussions and observations in Riau, South Sumatra, Papua
and West Papua. WRI Indonesia seeks to document such activities and events and
would like to select two to three photographers who will work with WRI
Indonesia, as required, to visit projects and provide photographic coverage,
b-roll footage and video footage of WRI Indonesia-related activities in digital
format.

 

Scope of Work

Under
the guidance of WRI Indonesia, the Consultant will work closely with programme
colleagues and the communications team to perform the following tasks:

 

·       To
provide digital photographic coverage, b-roll footage and video footage of WRI
Indonesia’s research activities and events for use in publications, promotional
materials, online channels, campaigns and others.

·       To take
photos, b-roll footage and video footage in several areas in Indonesia
according to the needs of WRI Indonesia.

·       To keep
all digital images, b-roll footage and video footage for final edit and
selection by WRI Indonesia.

·       With
regard to photo taking as well as b-roll and video recording, the Consultant
will:

o  
Provide high quality and resolution photos, b-roll
footage and video footage

o  
Capture and emotionally express the core elements
of the situation assigned for coverage

o  
Cover a range of activities and human faces

o  
Capture landscape view using drones, when needed,
to reflect the context of spatial boundaries, spatial conflicts and large-scale
environmental damage/degradation, if any.

o  
Provide different visual perspectives (close-up,
medium range, long distance) in both horizontal and vertical formats

o  
Supply complete caption information imbedded in
word document. The document should list all files’ names along with caption
information for each file name. Caption information should consist of: date,
place (including whether the location is a village, district, province etc),
subject names and age, and brief description of the situation photographed.

o  
In the case of capturing children under the age of
18, the Consultant needs to submit subject release forms (provided by WRI
Indonesia) signed by parents or legal guardians of the children.

·       As
needed, collaborate with WRI Indonesia communication team to construct
storyboard, support editing and production of targeted communication products
based on photos, b-roll footage and video footage produced.

·       To use
own professional photographic and video equipment as well as a range of
accessories.

·       To submit
all digital images, b-roll footage and video footage together with complete
caption information and photography subject release forms to WRI Indonesia in a
maximum one-week time.

 

Deliverables

·       For
research and field activities, the Consultant must provide a minimum of 100
digital images and 20 b-roll/video footage in high resolution per day.

·       The sets
of digital images, b-roll footage and video footage will be delivered on CDs
and/or DVDs together with caption information and photography subject release
forms to WRI Indonesia office.

·       The
digital images, b-roll footage and video footage should also be emailed to WRI
Indonesia via Dropbox/One Drive/Google Drive.

·       Other
products as required on a case by case basis regarding construction of
storyboard, editing support and/or production of targeted communication
products.

 

Credit of Digital Images &
B-roll and Video Footage

 

·       Photographers/videographers
have the right to be credited, implying that their name should accompany all
originals and reproductions of their work.

 

Support from WRI Indonesia

 

·       WRI
Indonesia will prepare contextual brief on any field visit and/or events as
guidance for photos and video footages.

·       WRI
Indonesia will undertake all the necessary travel arrangements.

·       Assistance
in acquiring access to specific locations in the form of a letter confirming
that the photographer is on an assignment commissioned by WRI Indonesia.

 

Qualifications

 

·       Legally
able to work in Indonesia

·       Minimum diploma
in photography and/or journalism or related fields or 2-3 years’ experience in
photography and videography in lieu of academic qualifications.

·       Previous
experience in taking environment-related photos and videos and creating
environment-related communication products based on photos and video footage is
preferred

·       High
level of creativity and initiative

·       Strong
communication skills with fluency in written and spoken Indonesian and English

·       Ability
to work with different teams, conduct field travel and deliver to deadlines.

Fee and Benefits

·       Fee will
