Project Officer Based in Lombok – INSPIRE Project
Project Overview:
Islamic Relief currently implementing the INSPIRE 2025 project is aimed at improving well-being of poor and orphan children participating in INSPIRE program. The project’s outcome is increased access to capacity building, educational support, and food assistance for poor and orphan children in Lombok Island, NTB Province, Indonesia. To achieve its outcome and contribute to its impact, the project will use two main interventions: enhancing access to capacity building initiatives and increasing cultural and project awareness.
INSPIRE project is aligned with country strategy and main programs of IR Indonesia. While INSPIRE will engage with orphans and school students, the project is relevant with one of main program, namely child welfare program.
For this project, Yayasan Relief Islami Indonesia is seeking a Project Officer based in Lombok, NTB, with short fixed term from June – November 2025
Job Purpose:
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the NTB Area Coordinator, the Project Officer will provide technical support to implementing INPSIRE Project. . S/he will lead the project implementation and liaise with project stakeholders (project team including MEAL team, local government, local partners, volunteers, right holders and etc) to ensure project deliverables are achieved on scope, time, and budget. S/he must perform her/his assigned areas with respect to technical assessments, awareness-raising, rights holders profiling, designing, and delivering training/workshop/meeting. The respected position will capacitate the staff and volunteers in undertaking their duties and assignment accordingly
Responsibilities:
- With support from Area Coordinator, provide technical assistance to community mobiliser and local volunteer in implementing the project and financial management
- Implement all project activities according to the detailed implementation plan.
- Supervise the local volunteers in beneficiary selection, needs assessment based on agreed tools by Islamic Relief and Partners.
- Track the progress of project implementation on daily, weekly and monthly bases and report to Area Coordinator for further review and evaluation.
- Bridge the communication with Islamic relief Indonesia, IR CAD and INSPIRE volunteer and others stakeholders
- Document project learning, meetings, changes and activity reports undertaken by project team.
- Assist the data management in Islamic Relief and partners.
- Maintain close relationship with the district, provincial, university, and communities
- Work on AX system to ensure all compliance related to finance, logistic are settled.
- Prepare any form of report (weekly, monthly and progress report).
- assess and review the performance of the community mobilizer and prepare recommendation for improvement.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct/oversee assessments, facilitate various meeting with local government, university, and Islamic boarding school management and also engagement with children, etc
- Experience in the evaluation of development projects using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Expertise in child protection and children participation issues and Community Engagement as well
- Able to write quality report supported by data and evidence.
- Project management skill is required.
- Flexible.
- Knowledge and practical understanding and ability to work within both relief and development NGO contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate activity with children and communities
- Demonstrated ability to conduct/oversee evaluations, reviews, assessments, etc.
- Experience in the evaluation of development projects using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Able to write report quality report supported by data and evidence
- Project management skill is required
- Knowledge and practical understanding of and ability to work within both relief and development NGO contexts.
- Good communication skill in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
