Project Officer for Employer-Supported Childcare (ESC) program
Overview
IBCWE, in collaboration with Investing in Women, is implementing an initiative on Employer-supported Childcare (ESC) by supporting companies in piloting and scaling childcare solutions that enable more women to participate in and benefit from the workforce.
To support the project in ensuring smooth implementation of activities, stakeholder coordination, communication and documentation, as well as project monitoring, IBCWE will hire a Project Officer to perform those tasks. The Project Officer will also play a key role in collaborating with corporate partners, childcare service providers, government counterparts, and IBCWE members.
Job Description
Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE) is an organization committed to promoting women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. We aim to create a safe and inclusive workplace in Indonesia by raising awareness on the importance of gender equality in the workplace; increasing women’s participation and representation in the workforce; and supporting companies in achieving gender equality standards.
The Project Officer (PO) will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Employer-Supported Childcare (ESC) initiative—an ongoing joint project between IBCWE and Investing in Women (IW)—which runs from August 2024 to November 2026. The ESC initiative supports companies in piloting and scaling childcare solutions that enable more women to participate in and benefit from the workforce.
The Project Officer will support the Project Manager in ensuring smooth implementation of activities, stakeholder coordination, communication and documentation, and project monitoring. The role involves close collaboration with corporate partners, childcare service providers, government counterparts, and IBCWE members.
Job Illustration
The Project Officer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Project Management and Coordination
- Assist in the day-to-day implementation of the ESC initiative;
- Coordinate activity execution during the trial phase with selected companies;
- Support facilitation of the ESC Consultative Working Group, including meeting planning and documentation;
- Assist in the development and piloting of technical tools, modules, and advisory materials for companies.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of workplans;
- Participate in external events, meetings, and site visits as delegated
- Maintain accurate documentation and archiving of project-related files and records.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with government agencies, industry associations, and civil society organizations relevant to ESC.
- Support outreach and coordination with service providers and potential ESC champions among IBCWE member companies.
Communication
10. In collaboration with the Business Development team:
- Contribute to content development for communication materials and dissemination strategies;
- Identify project updates, insights, and stories for internal and external communication;
- Support preparation of knowledge products including case studies, toolkits, and policy briefs.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning
11. Support the Project Manager and MERL Coordinator in collecting, updating and compiling monitoring data, and contribute to research and learning activities;
12. Facilitate communication and coordination with participating companies to support data collection and ensure alignment on evaluation activities;
13. Assist in preparing periodic reports, updates, and donor reports;
14. Contribute to documenting lessons learned and good practices from project activities.
Job Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Communication, Development Studies, Law, or related fields.
- Experience:
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, advocacy, or development sector.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality results on time.
- Language: Fluent in written and verbal Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Communication: Skilled in writing for reports, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
Desirable Qualities
- Understanding of gender equality and care economy issues;
- Experience working in donor-funded projects or multi-stakeholder settings;
- Familiarity with childcare services or corporate sustainability programs;
- Ability to use digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, Trello, Miro);
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
