Junior Cooperative Advisor – De Eik Project – Based in Garut
Job Description
Agriterra is a not-for-profit agri-agency from-and-for agricultural cooperatives and farmer organisations. Our mission is to strengthen organised farmers in developing and emerging countries, given the importance of effectively organised farmers to sustainably address food security, economic development, climate adaptation and mitigation. Agriterra assists organised farmers with advice and training through peer-to-peer support in combination with locally based experts. We apply a three-track approach: we make cooperatives bankable and create real farmer-led companies, we improve extension services to farmer members, and we enhance farmer-government dialogues.
The cooperative advisor supports and advises farmer-led agribusinesses (farmers’ cooperatives and farmers-owned/led companies, as well as farmer federations called clients) around operational management. The advisor analyses the client’s management performance and uses this analysis to contribute actively to develop steps for management improvement and for assisting the client in development and implementation of a sound business strategy and a bankable investment plan. Furthermore, the advisor monitors the client’s financial and commercial development monthly.
