Job Description

Agriterra is seeking a Junior Cooperative Advisor (JCA) for the Palmstep project, to be based in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan. The JCA will provide supportive roles across various areas of the project implementation. The main responsibility of the Junior Cooperative Advisor is to assist Secondary Palm Oil Cooperative (SPOC) and its seven primary cooperative members in achieving project objectives, under the guidance of the project lead. The JCA will support in advisory tasks related to cooperative business transformation, lobby and advocacy, and traceability processes, particularly for the upcoming CPO mill and palm oil certification-related activities.

The JCA will contribute to various aspects of project management, including designing, setting up, and closing project phases, ensuring that project milestones are met and all related reporting is carried out efficiently. The role is designed to provide learning opportunities through hands-on experience, offering exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Job Requirements

You are curious, motivated, and eager to grow, just like the cooperatives we work with. You also bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, agri-business, business management, development studies, or a related discipline.
  • A maximum of 3 years of relevant working experience with international organizations, particularly in supporting agricultural development projects. Alternatively, experience in the palm oil sector or agriculture will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with project monitoring and evaluation is preferable.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia (additional languages are a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel within the project area as required.

Start date: 2nd March 2026

Location: Field-based work (Pangkalan Bun, Kotawaringin Barat)
