Cervical Cancer Prevention Senior Technical Specialist

Jhpiego seeks a Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) Senior Technical Specialist to provide technical guidance in the design, implementation, coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of a CECAP implementation research project in Surabaya.
Reports to: CECAP Project Manager/Jakarta
Supervises: CECAP Lab Specialist/Surabaya
Location: Surabaya
Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Manager to design, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the project’s service delivery strategy
- Conduct on-site clinical mentoring sessions for trained health workers to ensure proper application of HPV DNA screening, VIA, and thermal ablation in real service settings.
- Implement routine quality assurance checks and feedback sessions with laboratory specialists to strengthen CECAP-related diagnostics and laboratory workflows.
- Build a group of champions consisting of policy makers, health providers, and community members to promote CECAP screening and treatment
- Work closely with monitoring and evaluation staff to monitor project progress and inform decision-making
- Manage awareness and demand generation components of the project
- Represent Jhpiego at relevant meetings with stakeholders
- Assist with analytical work, preparation of documents, reports and presentations for internal and external use, as needed
- Contribute to donor reports and updates on a regular and ad hoc basis
- Identify, document, and discuss lessons learned, best practices, and project successes to improve service delivery
Qualifications:
- Medical doctor with more than 6 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology
- Strong training skills and experience with adult facilitation techniques; previous experience conducting trainings and building capacity for service providers preferred
- Experience working in CECAP and conducting HPV screening with demonstrated understanding of new technologies including molecular testing with GeneXpert machines and thermal ablation
- Leadership skills and experience with mentoring to develop staff, colleagues, and health workers
- Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating donor-funded health projects in Indonesia
- Experience using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and cryotherapy and familiarity with the single-visit approach
- Experience in primary health care, client-centered approach and integrated screening initiatives
- Demonstrated understanding of the Indonesian health system and Indonesia’s national-level policies, guidelines, and strategies, especially related to CECAP
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Willing to take on extra responsibilities in order to achieve the goals/objectives set by the organization
