COMMUNICATION OFFICER
Reports to: Senior Communication Specialist
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Overview:
The post holder will support the Senior Communication Specialist in developing and implementing communication strategies for Jhpiego-supported programs and disseminating program information. This position will involve working closely with the program team, as well as public and private sector hospitals and health facilities, professional organizations, and other relevant groups.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Communications Specialist in the implementation of the program’s communication strategy and plan;
- Support and coordinate program team for events, meetings, seminars, workshops, advocacy efforts, etc. (taking documentation, preparing banners and other necessary promotional materials, liaising with partners when needed);
- Collaborate with the program team to develop, design, and implement the program’s communication materials, ensuring that messages are delivered through the most effective medium to the relevant audience. Materials include but are not limited to success stories, videos, brochures, leaflets, press releases, slide decks, lessons learned, etc.;
- Excellent English writing skills. Communication skills in interviewing resources to write stories about the program’s work and impact.
- Ability to design in Canva, preferably able to create reels and short videos.
- Work with the program team to support the production of all required program reporting documents required by projects and partners, including weekly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports;
- Work with the program team in editing and translating written knowledge products such as articles, reports written by other team members, and presentations in Bahasa Indonesia and/or English;
- Monitor media coverage and relevant publications of the program;
- Develop a social media plan, prepare content, and routinely manage the program’s social media content (Twitter and LinkedIn);
- Ensure all content complies with donor and program branding, marking, and messaging guidelines.
- Able to travel to the field as required for reporting and documentation purposes or event support.
- Other tasks required by direct supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in communication, journalism or other relevant subject
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in communication role
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English
- Prior experience with U.S. government-funded projects preferred
- Experience working with INGO desired
- Understanding of health sector issues desired
- Knowledge in design and video-making software
- Graphic design and video editing skills a plus
- Experience in managing digital communication/social media platform
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Excellent work ethic and able to work independently and under minimum supervision
