DATA ANALYTICS AND VISUALIZATION SPECIALIST
Position Reports To : M&E Advisor
Location : Jakarta
Overview:
We are looking a Data Analytics and Visualization Specialist to support the USG-funded MCGL project by strengthening the project’s capacity to generate, analyse, and communicate high-quality data. The specialist will work to assess data analytics needs, select appropriate tools and configure them, provide implementation support, provide data analytics at the project level, and support the capacity building of local teams in digital health approaches. They will apply appropriate tools, including DHIS2, Power BI, ArcGIS/QGIS, and Python/R, to support appropriate data management and use for program analytics. The MCGL project aims to assist Government of Indonesia in identifying and delivering life-saving targeted assistance in the areas of maternal, newborn, and child survival to reduce maternal, newborn and child mortality.
Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and optimize digital data collection and management systems to ensure data quality, completeness and timeliness
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualization products to communicate progress, trend, and outcomes of project activities
- Input project data into DHIS2, conduct data validation and make data visualisation
- Conduct analysis of project performance and progress based on data monitoring and provide feedback/input to project team accordingly
- Check data quality and make corrective actions as necessary to ensure that the data/information generated is correct and reliable
- Produce high-quality data summaries, info graphics, and visual reports for donor submissions, partners, and project learning events
- Facilitate learning sessions to strengthen a culture of data-driven decision making within project teams and partners
- Work closely with M&E Advisor to document and prepare relevant M&E consolidated reports and presentations
- Deliver any other task as assigned by supervisor related to project M&E activities
Qualification:
- Advanced degree in public health, data science, statistics, information systems, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in applied data use and analytics, including geospatial
- Specialty area within analytics, data use or GIS in global public health.
- Ability to use a general-purpose programming language (preferably R or Python).
- Experience applying geospatial analysis tools (preferably ArcGIS or QGIS).
- Track record of taking complex data needs and visualizing them in a manner that suits the audience and is easily visually interpretable.
- Experience with analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- Experience with DHIS2; advanced experience with Tracker and API preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to communicate technical content verbally, in writing and through dynamic presentations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficient oral and written English language skills
