Junior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

HRNS Indonesia is implementing a new phase project in North Sumatra to improve the livelihood of more than 3000 coffee farming families through Agricultural training and support. The team in North Sumatra will consist of 5 individuals and work under the supervision of the Project Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. HRNS Indonesia is looking for a Junior M&E officer, to be based in Sidikalang, North Sumatra, the M&E officer will play an active role in collecting data, ensuring correct entry into the digital database, and supporting the correct analysis and reporting on the data collected.
2. The M&E officer will work closely with the Senior M&E Coordinator, based in Muaradua, South Sumatra, and assist in the implementation and supervision of the HRNS Indonesia M&E and the global HRNS M&E approach and regard to donor requirements as well as management information needs.
3. S/he will assist in donor reporting and support in the preparation of project proposals, report writing, work plans, developing templates, collection and updating of farmer and farmer group data, and training monitoring.
4. S/he will work with the farmer and training database “Koltiva.org” and support data entry as well as report generating.   S/he will oversee leading surveys, organizing, and training recruited enumerators temporarily.
5. S/he will work on ‘Control Farmer Field Books’ and support training as well as data entering based on the Farmer Field Book data and basic analyses at the farmer level to monitor training and adoption levels of improved agricultural practices and economic performance of training for selected farmers.
6. Ensure that the Project Manager and Senior M&E officer receive all monthly updated databases and perform basic analysis of data and produce reports as required by project management.
7. Maintain active communication with the Senior M&E coordinator about evaluation results extracted from the databases. Report every quarter on the challenges and status of the database to the Senior M&E Coordinator, Project Manager, and Country Director.
8. Actively participate in organized activities such as training and team-building activities and keep a learning attitude.

Required profile:

• At least 2 years of working in M&E systems for development organizations.
• Experience in digital data collection systems, preferably in agricultural supply chains.
• Having worked with Koltiva or other Agri T&T applications is an advantage.
• Willing to go for regular field visits and give support on the farm and farmer’s group level.
• Bahasa Indonesia and English are required.
• Willing and able to work and live in Sidikalang or adjacent area.
