Quality Improvement (QI) Officer – Manggarai, NTT

Overview

Jhpiego seeks a Quality Improvement (QI) Officers to support the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) project in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provinces. The QI Officer will provide technical support to the QI Specialist in implementing the QI Collaborative at the district level. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective coordination, data management, documentation, and technical assistance for quality improvement efforts in public and private health facilities.

 

Position Reports to: QI Specialist in Provincial Level

Location: Manggarai, NTT

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the QI Specialist in coordinating and facilitating the implementation of QI Collaborative activities across target districts, including preparation for learning sessions, coaching visits, and other technical events.
  • Assist in organizing technical meetings, workshops and coaching visits at the district level, ensuring technical  readiness and proper documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance to selected hospitals and district stakeholders in implementing QI approach and monitoring collaborative indicators.
  • Support the collection, entry, and preliminary analysis of QI data from facilities
  • Document QI activities, including coaching reports, learning session summaries, and success stories from facility-level improvements.
  • Help ensure the completion and timely submission of activity reports and technical documents to the QI Specialist and the MEL team.
  • Provide follow-up support to facilities in applying tools such as fishbone diagrams, PDSA cycles, run charts
  • Coordinate closely with District Health Offices and selected hospitals (e.g., RSUD and private hospitals) to ensure timely implementation and follow-up of QI-related activities.
  • Assist in preparing materials for expert meeting, learning sessions, QI mentor regular meeting and other provincial-level events, working closely with the QI Specialist and MNH Technical Advisor.
  • Support the QI Specialist in preparing and ensure smooth execution of QI Collaborative scale up across MCGL districts area.
  • Contribute to the preparation of TORs for activities in coordination with the QI Specialist.
  • Support communication, coordination, and advocacy efforts at the provincial and district levels to promote ownership and sustainability of QI initiatives.
  • Support the MEL team and work closely with District Officer in verifying and maintaining updated data from MCGL-supported facilities, particularly on collaborative indicators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the QI Specialist to support QI implementation and alignment with provincial and national strategies.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Clinical professional: general practitioner/midwife/nurse (preferable)
  • At least 5 years of experiences working in the technical area of MNCH
  • Strong knowledge on Indonesia health system at all levels and experience working around it.
  • Strong knowledge of key relevant stakeholders in the area of MNCH and possessing good network.
  • Experience in developing training materials and delivering training preferred.
  • Ability to design, analyse, and be strategic in the implementation of project activities.
  • Excellent writing and oral presentation skills, including report writing and dissemination.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines on competing priorities.
  • Written and spoken fluently in English and Bahasa Indonesia (preferable)
  • Ability to travel in districts and province
