[Call for Paid Research Assistants (Indonesia-based)]

We are seeking research assistants to support a field-based research project on a nutrition program evaluation in Sambas District, West Kalimantan, and Malang District, East Java, Indonesia, led by a graduate student at Harvard Medical School.

Position: Research Assistant
Location: Partly remote + on-site fieldwork in West Kalimantan (accommodation during fieldwork is provided)
Duration: 4 to 6 months
Start date: As soon as possible
Contract:
Part-time (remote) before and after the fieldwork
Full-time (on-site) during the fieldwork period

Responsibilities
•⁠ ⁠Coordinate day-to-day communication between teams
•⁠ ⁠Organize and manage project data and documents
•⁠ ⁠Assist with data collection (surveys, interviews, observations)
•⁠ ⁠Transcribe and translate research materials (Bahasa Indonesia ↔️ English)
•⁠ ⁠Support administrative tasks (scheduling, logistics, and reporting)

Requirements
Essential
•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or social sciences field (medicine, dentistry, public health, anthropology, or related)
•⁠ ⁠Interest in public/global health, nutrition, or child health research
•⁠ ⁠Willing to commit for 4–6 months (including full-time fieldwork in June/July to August 2025)
•⁠ ⁠Comfortable using Excel and basic data/project management tools
•⁠ ⁠Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•⁠ ⁠Willing and able to travel and work with a variety of local partners
•⁠ ⁠Detail-oriented and highly organized
•⁠ ⁠Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred
•⁠ ⁠Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative data collection
•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with academic research environments or community-based projects
