Preliminary Study & Roadmap for Fortified Rice in the Free Meal (MBG) Program

Dear Potential Bidders,

Nutrition International (NI) is a global organization dedicated to delivering proven nutrition interventions to those who need them most. Working in partnership with countries, donors, and implementers, NI conducts cutting-edge nutrition research, supports critical policy formulation, and integrates nutrition into broader development programs. In more than 60 countries, primarily in Asia and Africa, Nutrition International nourishes people to nourish life.

NI has been supporting the national government on the fortification of multiple staples such as iodized salt and fortified wheat flour on policies and standards, as well as capacitating the local industry to adopt good manufacturing practices and QA / QC norms to produce adequately fortified food staples. NI now intends to support the Government of Indonesia in developing a roadmap for introducing fortified rice in the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG)/Free meal program, validate the same in the real-world environment through a pilot intervention and share this national roadmap with National Nutrition Agency (NAN) and related policy and implementation bodies

Accordingly, Nutrition International (NI) intends to hire the services of a Consultant to conduct a preliminary study and use it for developing a roadmap for introducing fortified rice in the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG)/Free meal program.
