Initiative (KSI) is a joint initiative between the Governments of Indonesia and
Australia (through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of DFAT) to
improve the quality of public policies that will support economic development
and benefit the country’s poor in Indonesia, through the use of research,
analysis and evidence. The program seeks to achieve this by supporting the
capacity building of policy research institutes, policy making organizations
and intermediary organizations. It also seeks to improve systems and
regulations to support research-based policy making and develop effective
