THE POSITION

Location: Ubud, Bali

Kopenik finds what works by experimenting with potential solutions that address social and environmental challenges. We engage partners from the development, public and private sectors to advance products, services and approaches that support underserved communities, as well as creative actors in advocating social and environmental issues.

The Solutions Lab team focuses on rapid experimentation of promising solutions to problems faced by people living in the last mile. These solutions may be technology driven (physical or information and communication technologies (ICT) or approaches inspired by behavioral insights. 

The Analyst will work within the Solutions Lab team to implement experimentation, research, and technology distribution projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • Manage assigned projects in accordance with Kopernik’s project management toolkit;
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation tasks and provide research results in line with Kopernik’s standards and guidelines.

Fieldwork

  • Prepare, coordinate and conduct data collection (e.g. survey, sampling, interviews)
  • Host and accompany partners on field visits and help with interpretation as necessary;
  • Other field work related tasks as necessary.

Research & Analysis

  • Identify, research, and provide analysis on the project opportunities (e.g., in water, sanitation & health; agriculture & fisheries; environment, energy & climate; micro-entrepreneurship; and education);
  • Conduct research on potential appropriate technology solutions and address the identified challenges for the intended users 

Data Analysis & Report Writing

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data collected in the field;
  • Use specific tools required for data collection (ie. TDS meter, moisture meter, sensors, etc);
  • Interpret and summarise findings in a succinct, visual way;
  • Propose actionable recommendations based on key findings.

Partnership Building

  • Engage and liaise with partners, building new relationships and managing current relationships;
  • Respond to incoming correspondence from partners and host partner engagement meetings.

Other Tasks

  • Collaborate and assist other teams in Kopernik as needed;
  • Develop and prepare funding and partnership proposals.

SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Indonesian;
  • Excellent research and analytical skills;
  • Excellent in statistical analysis;
  • Excellent presentation skills;   
  • Advanced computer skills with fluency in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Impact and data-focused;
  • A can-do and collaborative mindset – comfortable with the ambiguities and demands of a rapidly evolving work environment;
  • Passionate about community engagement, product development, and innovative solutions

REQUIREMENTS

  • Indonesian Nationality 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1), for example in Natural Sciences or Social Sciences.
  • 1–3 years of work experience; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience or strong interest in social innovation, community engagement, prototype development, and research and development.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia (native) and English (advanced).
